Dan is artistic and youth theatre director for Wirral based touring company Off the Ground Theatre. He has directed over 80 youth theatre performances not only for Off the Ground but also the Chester Gateway Theatre, Dramart Productions (in Spain and Greece), The Chester Mystery Plays and The Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatres, where he was Youth Theatre Director when the youth theatre was brought back to the theatres. Dan is also a qualified teacher and designed the Everyman and Playhouse’s education programme for Capital of Culture Year, as well as overseeing the development of Off The Ground’s extensive education activities. Recent youth theatre productions include Henry V, Billy Elliot (part of Billy Youth Theatre), Sweeney Todd, Love of the Nightingale and The Crucible.
As an actor he is most well known for his brutal and terrifying portrayal of ‘Man in Café’ in Hollyoaks, then reappearing as the slightly less disturbing ‘Other Man in Café’ a year later. He no longer appears in Hollyoaks for fear of being typecast.
