High Ropes Course

High up among the tree tops, this set of challenges really does push the boundaries; even under the watchful eye of one of the centre teachers there is still a core feeling of fear and trepidation. It is the overcoming these natural fears that gives the sense of achievement and release when the challenge is successfully completed.

As you progress through the high ropes course, greater amounts of determination and courage are needed to achieve each challenge. Even though an individual may be challenging themselves there is also a big element of support and encouragement required in this activity, the positive support given by others may be a big factor in helping others succeed.

There are two parts to the high ropes course at Conway Centres: Anglesey, the high traverse course which involves journeying along a variety of obstacles suspended between the trees which get progressively higher, culminating in a big zip wire and our standalone elements which include the ‘Inclined Log’, ‘Cat Walks’, ‘Leap of Faith’ and the ‘Jacob’s Ladder’.

These activities are ideal for focussing on challenge through choice, looking at real and perceived risk, creating a supportive working environment and developing trust.

As part of a full day participants will be given the opportunity to take part in both the high traverse course as well as the stand-alone elements. Whilst half a day allows for enough time for the stand alone elements to be tackled.

Please note, we have a lower age limit of Year 9 for the high traverse course, this does not apply to the standalone elements.
