Dinghy Sailing

Skimming along the water with the wind in you hair, dinghy sailing is a perfect way to spend a warm breezy day. Even if it is cold and grey, it is an activity you can enjoy in all conditions, kitted out as you will be with wetsuits and waterproof tops. The more adventurous will certainly enjoy the chance to get soaked by the flying salt spray, and the opportunity to become independent sailors is a big attraction.

Conway Centres: Anglesey has its own private dock with easy access to the Menai Strait, making it ideally situated for sailing.  Dinghy sailing allows one or two individuals to be in control of their own sailing craft after a land based introductory session. Out on the water there is powerboat safety cover, which means the teaching staff are always on hand to offer encouragement and advice. Often the day involves a journey, tide and weather dependent, thus allowing exploration of the local environment.

Dinghy sailing is an ideal activity for encouraging independence, responsibility and a sense of adventure. The activity is offered as a full day activity, thus allowing a degree of progression and sense of achievement. We have a variety of sailing craft at our disposal, meaning it is suitable for Year 5 upwards.
