Steve Smith

Having grown up locally and been employed  as a postman for 15 years, used to being out and about everyday in the fresh air, I was lucky enough to be offered a chance to go to a local college and retrain as an outdoor education tutor.  It was during this college course that I spent a month at a small outdoor centre to gain experience. I worked with a variety of young people, enjoyed it so much I realised that this was the career for me. After completing the course with good grades, plus having spent a lot of time volunteering at Conway Centres: Anglesey I was offered an assistant tutor post. This enabled me to gain the relevant qualifications which allowed me to take people of all ages and abilities into the surroundings that I love so much, in the hope that they may be inspired as I was. I enjoy spending my free time in the mountains with my dog, or mountain biking around the local trails. I am also passionate about travelling and have been fortunate enough to spend time with Sherpa families in the Himalayas, ride elephants in Sri Lanka and powerboat around Bermuda.
