Sarah Gratton

I have always had a great passion for work in the outdoor environment, believing in the growth of the individual and the inspiration adventurous activities can provide. My influences started through the youth service with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, leading to work within mainstream and special needs schools, local authority outdoor education centres and children in care. I taught at various centres within the Yorkshire Dales and Denmark before moving to North Wales, where I completed my teacher training (PGCE). I started work at Conway Centres: Anglesey in 2009 as an assistant outdoor education tutor and I am proud to now be working as an outdoor education teacher at the centre. Inspirational moments for me are seeing the elated faces of young people, realising their own true potential through personal achievement on completion of a challenging activity.

During my career I have gained various qualifications including the Summer Mountain Leader Award and Winter ML Training, Dinghy Instructor, Powerboat Level 2 and Safety Boat Operator, Level 2 Inland Kayak with 3 star Canoe and Kayak and SPA; with experience of leading and facilitating lessons in many more activities.
