Rachel Gregory

I have worked in the Outdoor Education Industry since 1994. Prior to this I taught Geography in a secondary school. I joined the Conway Centre team in 2012 after working in other centres in South Wales. North Wales and Scotland. I enjoy working with students of all ages, having a vast amount of experience working with younger students on introductory sessions through to training adults to be potential mountain leaders themselves. To introduce students to the fun of being in the outdoors and the benefits it can bring to personal development is a very rewarding part of my job.

I am lucky to have had some amazing personal experiences in the outdoors and to have travelled to many exotic locations, from trekking in the northern Karakoram mountains in the Himalayas and climbing high Volcanoes in Ecuador, to caving in China and Mexico, as well as skiing and alpine climbing in the Alps. I enjoy the beauty of the remote areas as well as the challenges it presents. Presently I am a keen horse rider and compete on a regular basis.

I hold a BEd in Outdoor Education and a Masters Degree in Education. I am qualified in a wide range of activities, holding the Summer Mountain Leader, Winter Mountain Leader, International Mountain Leader, Mountain Instructor Award, Mine Level 2 Leader, Level 3 sea kayak, level 3 inland kayak, 4* Canoe, RYA level 2 Power Boat, RYA Assistant Instructor, BOF orienteering coach, Alpine and Mountain ski Leader, REC first aid.
