Maureen Richards

I started my career as a classroom teacher in a primary school in Chester and developed the music and singing in the school to such a degree that the school choir was regularly asked to perform at various local, city and county events including the Northern Education Conference with a performance of “Songs of Hoy” with the composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. I am part of the music provision team at Conway Centres: Anglesey.

For 20 years I was part of Cheshire County Council Education Department and developed the position of Primary Music Advisor/ Manager Widening Opportunities.

I have a recognised and acknowledged passion for children’s music making and for providing children with the highest quality musical experiences. I give inspirational, energetic and enthusiastic support for teachers and I am convinced that with the appropriate support and encouragement they could all provide their children with worthwhile musical experiences.

I have worked with both newly qualified teachers and the most experienced classroom teachers.
