My path into the position of Assistant Tutor Outdoor Education at Conway Centres: Anglesey has been a long-winded one, however, it has been well worth the journey! I originally studied Psychology (BSc Hons) at the University of Nottingham, where I chose modules that specialised in Child Development and Educational Psychology. My dreams of being a primary school teacher were set in place up until I took on a position at a Canadian outdoor summer camp, wherein I had that ‘lightbulb’ moment, realising that my love of education could be combined with my love of the outdoors! After travelling through Canada, where I spent my time hiking in the Rocky Mountains, kayaking in Glacial lakes and wandering through the redwood forests of Vancouver Island, my heart was set on finding a career that could allow me to continue enjoying the outdoors and encourage children to do the same. Here at Conway Centres: Anglesey I can do just that. In my free time I try to get out as much as possible depending on the weather, be it surfing, mountaineering or climbing. I am currently working towards my summer ML, SPA and Level 1 Coach in Paddlesports.
