Andrew Finnegan

I have worked in the education sector for over 32 years. My degree was in English Literature BA(Hons) at the University of East Anglia and was followed by a PGCE. at Leeds University. My first teaching experience was as a teacher in a secondary school and whilst there I was also a Chair of Governors of a local primary school, NUT school rep and President of the local association of the NUT.

Since then I have been Director of Conway Centres: Anglesey before becoming Manager of the Residential Arts & Outdoor Education Service, which caters for over 20,000 pupils per annum on a full cost recovery basis in the centres at Anglesey, Beeston, Burwardsley, Delamere, Tattenhall and the new day centre at Winsford Flash. During the time leading and managing the service I have become an Investor in People Internal Assessor and a member of the Investor in Peoples quality assurance employers panel for North Wales.

Currently I am Senior Manager for Universal Services for School Improvement which incorporates the Learning Outside the Classroom Service, the Residential Arts and Outdoor Education Service, the Music Service, the Early Year’s Service and Quality Learning Partners (the traded element of the School Improvement Service).
